Our 2007 Artistry is a proprietary blend of 5 Bordeaux-varietal grapes. The varietals and percentages will change from year to year, with a goal of keeping the wine consistent in quality and style.
The 2007 vintage is deep crimson in color with aromas of dark cherry, dark plum and
blackberry. There are also nuances of leather, toasted nuts and baking spices. On the
palate, this firmly-textured wine offers a full-mouth feel with flavors of mocha/cherry
truffles, blackberry tart and dark currants. The firm tannins are very well integrated,
making the wine approachable at an early age. There are multiple layers to this
complex blend that reveal themselves through decanting or by giving the wine time to
open up in the glass.
Cuvée: 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 11%
Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot and 6% Merlot.
We utilize long term grape contracts to ensure consistency and quality in the Bordeaux
varietals that create our Artistry blend. The fruit is sourced from prized vineyards in St.
Helena, Oakville, Yountville and Atlas Peak. Each vineyard is situated in ideal soil and
microclimates, conducive to producing fully-ripened Bordeaux grapes with complex
aromatic and flavor characteristics.

Winemaker Notes:
|
Our grapes were hand sorted and gently crushed. We used native yeast for fermentation
and the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in the barrel. After primary
fermentation the wine went through an extended maceration period to soften the
tannins. The wine was aged 22 months in 50% new French oak and 50% once-used
French oak and then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
