Our 2008 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon offers up a remarkable sense of place that speaks of the unique character of the growing region. In the glass this wine is almost seamless and has benefited greatly from time in bottle. It is ripe, plush and generous but all within the context of a well knit wine and perfectly balanced wine. Tannins have integrated nicely and it is reflected on the palate as a lush softness. There is a rich core of spicy plum, blackberry, and wild berry fruit. The finish is deep, long, and complex and lingers with touches of chocolate and toasted spices.

The Appellation
The Alexander Valley AVA is located just northeast of Healdsburg. Surrounding hillsides block the coastal fogs that cover much of Sonoma County on summer mornings---allowing Alexander Valley to keep a little warmer than some of its neighbors. However, gentle coastal breezes manage to find their way between the hillsides to cool the region in the evening. This climate, combined with well-drained, gravelly soils help the region produce some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes available.

Recommended Food Pairings
Pair this wine with all sorts of beef and roasts dishes. A grilled steak will not find a better friend. Lamb chops will also enjoy the company of this elegant wine. The soft tannins will allow you to pair this with pork loin which would be best with a black fruit reduction sauce. Pasta with a spicy red sauce will pair nicely with the wines bright acidity balancing against the acidity of the tomato sauce. Because this wine is so well balanced, this particular Cabernet Sauvignon lends itself to pairing with a broad spectrum of foods. Enjoy!
