Following are the results of this year's Grand Harvest Awards held February 16-18, 2005. The Grand Harvest Awards is a unique wine judging; wines are judged only in the context of their own viticultural area. The goal of this competition is to identify the finest examples from each vitcultural region and to acknowledge the influence of terroir in wine quality. In other competitions, this factor is ignored. The judges taste wines with other wines of the same appellation. The Grand Harvest Awards is sponsored by the internationally-renowned trade magazine, Vineyard & Winery Management .
