National Women's Wine Competition

Following are results of the National Women's Wine Competition held in Santa Rosa, California, on March 16-18, 2008. This is the first national wine competition judged solely by women. Proceeds from the competition will be donated to Women for WineSense, the nation's leading non-profit educational organization for women in wine. Over 1,900 wines were judged; wineries from 30 states participated. In addition, the competition sponsored a sub-competition (Winemaker's Challenge) for wines made by women winemakers working at licensed and bonded U.S. wineries.
A special tasting of winning wines will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. Tasting information and complete competition results can be found online at www.nwwc.info.
